Rockaway Beach Resort

This was our first time staying at Rockaway beach resort on a last minute trip. LOVED the location. Perfect beach front view and access. They said they would be renovating soon which does need to be done you can tell it's an older place but nothing was bad or in poor condition. We can't wait to come back next summer after the renovations. They only issue we had was there were no locks on the doors to the outside. We have a one year old that wanted to open them are go outside. But otherwise we loved our visit. The pool and hot tub were nice and great for the kids! Can't wait for our next visit!

Positives: GREAT location and view, private stairs to the beach, friendly staff, large rooms with sitting area and kitchen, much less expensive than a similarly sized AirBNB. Negatives: Can't go out on the balconies, very dated furniture, finishings, and decor, no elevator (fine for us on 3rd floor but not for all). would prefer a king bed - all rooms have queens.

Incredible experience all the way around! Yes. It's a bit outdated. But for the price you pay, it's absolutely worth it! Right next to the beach! Swimming pool and hot tub. Service was great, too. We showed up around 2:30am Thursday and the office called us to check in on us. They left us a lock box on our room door and gave us the code. Give this place a chance! You won't be disappointed!

The hotel is off a very steep road that goes over train tracks. Not easy for a vehicle with a low lip. The rooms are old and dated. There was carpet missing, a smell, the balconies were closed, dirty around the building, and the structure of building seems to be suffering as the doors are all hard to open or close. The service was great and they did what they could to prevent the booking company doesn't put through the double charge they tried to charge. Being on the beach is the main reason to book this place.

This was the best place we stayed at all week. We would have cancelled our other reservations and stayed here longer if we could have. The down side is that there is little parking and the stalls are narrow. There is no elevator and we stayed on the 3rd floor so packing the suitcases up the concrete stairs was not fun, but the nice rooms made it worth it. We loved having a private bedroom with a private bathroom and then the larger room with the kitchen area and sofa bed and murphy bed with the sliding doors open to the ocean breeze. It was clean and the kitchen area stocked with all the utensil and serve ware you could need. The murphy bed was very comfortable too. The only down side was that the deck was completely unusable because it is not safe and they are being redone. That was the main thing we wanted to do was sit on the patio and watch the waves and the sunset. They claim that it was noted on the website that the decks were closed off, but we never saw it and if wee did, we would have gone somewhere else. But I will stay there again, once the decks are redone and safe. The ocean view is amazing and it's close to the water. If not for the deck issue, I would have given 5 stars, however I understand that they were not safe and needed to be repaired but according to other reviews, this has been going on for 2 years. They should be done by now.

If you’re bringing the whole family this is the place to stay. The room we stayed in was fully equipped with everything we needed to cook and eat. Dishes, utensils, pots, pans, coffee pot, electric kettle, etc. Even a little bag filled with filters for the coffee pot. You can tell they really thought through what people would want or need down to the details. The room was clean and well kept. The lady at the front desk even gave the kids little “back-to-school” goodie bags! They were so cute and the kids loved it. The pool is clean and warm and the hot tub is huge with a big window that overlooks the ocean. This is our second time staying here and we’ve loved it both times.
